TGC Election Year – Nominations Accepted at September Meeting
While we don’t think your Texarkana Gun Club needs to be made “Great Again”, (it’s pretty great already), it is election time for TGC. That means that anyone interested in becoming the President, Vice President, Secretary, or Treasurer of TGC, the time to submit their nomination is coming soon.
However, Not On Renewal Night…
We decided at the July meeting that trying to hold the election on the same night as a couple of hundred folks are trying to renew at the August meeting is just more trouble than we are willing to bear in one evening.
So, Here’s What We Voted To Do:
At the scheduled September meeting on Tuesday, September 23, at 6 PM at the Southwest Center, we will accept nominations for board positions as a “new business” item during the meeting.
This doesn’t have to be overly formal; you just need to show up to the meeting and figuratively toss your hat into the ring for the position you are interested in occupying for the next two-year term.
Election Night 2025:
After all nominations are in on meeting night in September, the voting will take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Meeting location TBA. That means you have 30 days-ish to campaign.
The Campaign!
Anyone wishing to state their case as to why he/she would make a great board member for the Texarkana Gun Club is invited to send an email with their campaign speech to the editor (that’s me). We will post it on the website for all members to read during the Campaign period.

Each candidate will have a few minutes, if they wish, to make a short statement before the vote on October 28 as well. No handing out cigars, beers, or ammo allowed in the building.
If you have been thinking about it, now is the time… well, technically, September is the time.
