SCAMS – They’re Everywhere – Even At Your Gun Club
I received a report earlier today that someone called one of our members, pretending to be someone in authority at the Gun Club, and asking for additional membership dues, or something like that. And wanted it paid in gift cards! Seriously!
SCAM ALERT!
It’s hard to imagine, but these kinds of scams happen all the time. Usually, it’s someone claiming to be with the Sheriff’s Department, or a County Court, something more authoritative than the Gun Club. You never know, maybe the sammers are trying to scale it down a bit.
Note to TGC Members:
Someone claiming to represent a Sheriff’s Dept, a Court, a Police Dept, or even the Texarkana Gun Club will never call you asking you to pay money to them by purchasing Gift Cards… ever.
If you get an email that says it’s from the Gun Club or any of the above-mentioned entities, requesting funds and asking you to click on a link. Do NOT click on that link. Call us (or them) and verify it is real. Because it’s not.
Extra Side Note:
We also do not trade in Bitcoin or accept any digital currency. We are not, nor have we ever been, a celebrity seeking love and a little seed money from you. (Don’t laugh, it happens!) We do, however, know an African Prince that could use your help…
😂🤣
Not really! Be careful out there.
