The Texarkana Gun Club D-Day 2026 Match Is Saturday, June 6th
The annual Texarkana Gun Club D-Day Rifle Match will be here very soon, and this year it should be a great one to celebrate and honor the sacrifices of the Greatest Generation. Why, you ask? Because this is the first year since these matches began, always held on June 6 (of course), where that day actually falls on a Saturday! Booyah!
How Fancy Is This!
We anticipate more shooters will be available to shoot this match than usual; however, we will once again shoot the match seated on the benches, across a rucksack, or some type of cloth rolled rest, sleeping bag, etc., with your hand under the rifle, no benchrest rifle rests, and no rear bag rest.
Unlimited sighters are allowed, then we stop, tape, and fire 10 rounds for score on an SR-1 target, at 100 yards.
Classes Will Be In Session:
Each class will score separately, and classes will be:
- M1 Garand
- M1Carbine
- M1903/A3
- “any other weapon,” for example, Karr 98, British Enfield 303, Modern Sporting Rifle, etc.
Match Fees
Each class will be $5.00 to shoot, with a $20.00 maximum to shoot the whole thing.
Registration starts at 8:30 AM – Match begins at 9:00 AM.
Exceptions to the Rules
We know other rifles could have seen use on D-Day, and if you have one and want to use it, you are more than welcome to. A class will be made for any rifle you wish to shoot. The most important thing is you show up, shoot a fun match, and honor those who did it for real 82 years ago.
